Go Red for Women's Heart Health Day

    Seed Social

We combined a social event with a project and called it a Seed Social. Seven of us gathered to package up 400 bags of Chive seeds to distribute to the students at Mile Tree School on Read Across America Day. It was a productive evening with lots of food, drink, talk, and laughter.

    Secure the Call

The Wilbraham Junior Women's Club and the General Federation of Women's Clubs teamed up with Secure the Call to collect used and unwanted cell phones and tablets. These devices find new life as emergency-only phones, which Secure the Call distributes to Domestic Violence Services across the country. In February we collected and shipped 29 phones and 4 tablets.

    Book Club

The Book Club met at Krazy Jake's to discuss the book When Breath Becomes Air by  Paul Kalanithi. Several of the ladies in attendance had experience in medical fields which added some interesting insights to the conversation.

    General Meeting

Club met in the Community Room at the Police Station.  A brief social time was followed by a lot of discussion and planning of the spring events.

    MArch 2023

    Read Across America

As part of Read Across America, and in honor of Dr. Suess's birthday, we read the The Lorax to 14 classrooms at the Mile Tree School. Each student also received a packet of seeds to grow their very own Truffala Trees... actually they were Chive seeds, but Chives look a lot like miniature Truffala Trees. .

    "Meet the Mediatrician"

The Hampden-Wilbraham Partners for Youth hosted a presentation on Digital Wellness and Literacy among youth and teens by Dr.  Michael Rich. Club helped promote the event and provided assistance throughout the evening.

    Book Club

The Book Club met at Krazy Jake's to discuss the book The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett. It was an interesting conversation about family and colorism.

    General Meeting

Club met in the Community Room at the Police Station. During and after the meeting everyone worked on preparing the foam cutouts needed for the craft table at the Bunny Breakfast.

    20 Bags Challenge

For the first 20 days of March, leading up to the start of Spring, club members were challenged to fill one "bag" a day with items that could be donated, recycled, or disposed.  62 bags were filled.

      Earth Day

Club members and their families participated in a town wide clean up effort.  Brenda and Jen also worked on the committee to plan this event.  It was a great accomplishment that will hopefully become an annual event!

      "Little Women"

Club members attended the play "Little Women" performed at the Wilbraham United Church by the Wilbraham United Players.
